Gophers to host North Dakota in NCAA tournament

Minnesota (26-5) will play the University of North Dakota (30-7) in its first game of the NCAA tournament, the Division I Women’s Volleyball committee announced Sunday.  "We're excited to get going," head coach Hugh McCutcheon told reporters. "It's a difficult year. They're a lot of good teams out there, but we certainly feel like we've been treated well. We think we're in a good spot."

Rodney Smith finds running room in shutout loss

Wisconsin kept the Paul Bunyan's Axe trophy once again. The Gophers offense didn't score and the defense struggled to stop the run. There was a lone bright spot in the final game of the regular season, however: running back Rodney Smith. Smith had 96 total yards of offense out of 133 yards the Gophers scratched together in the Badgers blowout win. Minnesota lost to No. 5 Wisconsin 31-0, in Minnesota's last game of the regular season.
