Gophers finish 12th in Gopher Invitational

The Gophers weren't able to use their home field to their advantage on Sunday and Monday. Minnesota finished in 12th out of 16 teams at the Gopher Invitational, an event at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minnesota. Senior Riley Johnson was first among Gophers in a tie for 22nd place. “The difference between fifth place and 12th place was not too much and it was exciting to see these guys compete,” said assistant coach Justin Smith.

Conor Rhoda named starting quarterback for Gophers

Minnesota’s quarterback situation is finally settled — for now. Quarterback Conor Rhoda has been named thestarting quarterback for Minnesota, a Gophers spokesperson confirmed Monday. Rhoda shared the starting duties with redshirt sophomore Demry Croft for the first two games of the season.

Minnesota loses opening dual to Michigan State

The season opener didn’t go quite as planned for Minnesota.  The Gophers lost 4.5-1.5 at a private dual at the Spring Hill Country Club in Wayzata, Minnesota on Saturday against Michigan State.
