For a team that has gone to back-to-back Final Fours, Minnesota's volleyball team will be tested early this season to see whether this squad is a real contender for another deep postseason run.

Minnesota's volleyball team has relied on its young talent for most of this up-and-down season. However, another NCAA Tournament is coming up for the Gophers and the team is looking to its three seniors for leadership that young talent can't always bring.

There is a lot on the table this Thanksgiving weekend for Minnesota's volleyball team. The 17th-ranked Gophers (22-7, 12-6 Big Ten) host a hot Illinois team (15-14, 6-12 Big Ten) Friday and close out the regular season at home against No. 22 Purdue (22-7, 11-7 Big Ten).

Minnesota's volleyball team needed a win this weekend to keep its momentum rolling. It was able to do that while making history. The 19th-ranked Gophers (22-7, 12-6 Big Ten) beat No. 17 Ohio State (19-8, 12-6 Big Ten) on Saturday in three games, 30-19,30-25, 30-23 " that marks the first time in Minnesota history that it has beaten the Buckeyes on the road in three games.

The last time Minnesota's volleyball team played Penn State and Ohio State, the Gophers were outhit, outblocked and outserved. They basically were outplayed in every facet of the game in those early season matches.

Looking to avenge a five-game loss at Wisconsin earlier this season, the Minnesota volleyball team will look to pounce on the Badgers at home this weekend to move past them in the Big Ten standings.

Winning its past four matches, Minnesota's volleyball team is starting to roll at the right time of the season. The Gophers struggled earlier in the season against ranked teams, No. 14 Purdue, No. 19 Ohio State and No. 3 Penn State.

A trip to the Wolverine State this weekend proved to be a test of adversity for the Minnesota's young volleyball team. The 17th-ranked Gophers (20-5, 10-4 Big Ten) overcame a quick start by Michigan (10-12, 4-9 Big Ten) on Friday to come from behind and win the match, 32-30, 23-30, 30-22, 30-24.

This weekend's trip to Michigan will give Minnesota's volleyball team a chance at contending for a top position in the Big Ten.
The 17th-ranked Gophers (18-5, 8-4 Big Ten) will head to Cliff Keen Arena tonight to face Michigan (10-11, 4-8 Big Ten).
