Congress

The U.S. Congress is made up of the Senate and the House of Representatives. Each state elects two senators, who serve six-year terms and a number of representatives based upon its population, who serve two-year terms. Minnesota currently has eight representatives in Washington, D.C. After the 2010 midterm election, Republicans wrested away control of the House from Democrats, who still control the Senate.
