TCF Bank Stadium

The Gophers played their first game in TCF Bank Stadium on Sept. 12, 2009 officially brought football back to campus. The open-air stadium, located on the northeast side of the University of Minnesota campus, holds more than 50,000 fans. TCF Bank Stadium replaced Memorial Stadium, which hosted its last game in November 1981. Between 1981 and 2009, Gopher football was played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. The University held its first large concert for Irish rockers U2 at the stadium on July 23, 2011.
