Tim Pawlenty

After serving two terms as the governor of Minnesota (2003-2011), Pawlenty is now taking aim at the U.S. presidency. Pawlenty previously served 10 years in the Minnesota House of Representatives, including four as the Republican Majority Leader, before being elected governor in 2003. Born in St. Paul, Pawlenty graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1983 with a degree in political science, and then from the University’s Law School in 1986.
