Minnesota found its way back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.

The Gophers made the tournament as a 10th seed. They will play against 7th seed Green Bay on Friday at 4 p.m. in Eugene, Oregon.

Minnesota went 23-8 after a 15-16 season just a year ago. It found a string of success near the end of the season and upset two nationally ranked teams in a week. They beat No. 23 Michigan and No. 10 Maryland on Feb. 14 and Feb. 18, respectively.

The Gophers’ finished their Big Ten season after losing 90-88 to Ohio State in the Big Ten tournament semifinals on March 3.

The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2. Green Bay went 29-3 this season and won the Horizon League Championship.

Green Bay only played one Big Ten team this year when it defeated Northwestern 63-57 on Dec. 19.

This will be the team’s fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament since the 2006 season. The Gophers have only made it out of the first round once in that time, when they defeated Notre Dame on March 22, 2009.

Minnesota finished tied for third in the Big Ten this season.
