New poke restaurant coming to Dinkytown

JJ’s Poké Hawaiian restaurant will replace the Jersey Mike’s in Dinkytown.

A new restaurant specializing in the Hawaiian poke dish is coming to Dinkytown this fall, filling Jersey Mike’s former storefront.

JJ’s Poké, which has one other location in Edina, takes Hawaiian poke, a salad of raw fish, veggies, rice and sauces, and serves it in both its traditional form and as a burrito. Jersey Mike’s closed its doors in July after three years in business.

The store plans to open in October, said Tiffany Chen, manager of the store’s Edina location.

Customers start off by choosing between a poke bowl, burrito or salad and can select if they want their toppings to go on rice, greens or a mix of both topped with different seafood options or tofu to top their base with.

Other new additions to Dinkytown expected in coming months include Bonchon Korean fried chicken and Crisp & Green salad restaurant.

Choices outside of chicken and steak include signature bowls and rice bowls, ranging between $8.95 to $12.95.
