U set to participate in sexual assault climate survey

The University of Minnesota is set to participate in what is expected to be one of the largest sexual assault climate surveys ever.

The survey, which is organized by the Association of American Universities, will include 28 public and private research universities.

“The number one purpose of this is to help our individual universities that are participating in it get a better understanding of the problems on their campuses so that they have more knowledge on which to base their own policies and practices,” said AAU Vice President for Public Affairs Barry Toiv.

The AAU is an association of 60 U.S. and two Canadian research universities that develops national and institutional policies.  The survey will be offered to all undergraduate, graduate and professional students on participating campuses, totaling over 800,000 participants.

The AAU will publicly report the collective results of the survey, and each participating campus will receive their own individual results.
