Windle’s no-hitter earns him Big Ten Honor

It probably didn't take a lot of thought to decide this week's Big Ten Pitcher of the Week.

Gophers lefthander Tom Windle threw a no-hitter on Friday to all-but clinch the honor. It was the first no-hitter by a Minnesota player since 1993. It was the first nine-inning no-hitter by a Gopher since 1933.

Windle struck out eight, walked one and needed just 94 pitches to complete the no-no.

He is 2-1 with a 1.96 ERA in four starts this season.

Minnesota's Saturday starter Ben Meyer won the honor last week.
