Gophers ace Tom Windle has been on quite the roll.
The 6-foot-4 lefty earned his second Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor for his outing against Michigan on Friday. Windle threw his fourth straight complete game, struck out a career-high 13 batters and allowed one earned run in Minnesota's 3-1 victory.
He's allowed just three earned runs in his last four starts. In seven starts this season, Windle is 4-2 with a 1.44 ERA. Opponents are hitting .167 against Windle.
Windle earned the same honor on Mar. 11 after throwing a no-hitter. Minnesota pitchers have claimed the award four times in seven weeks.
