Junior forward Sam Warning earned the Big Ten conference's First Star award Tuesday.

The Gophers men's hockey team defeated Bemidji State on the road last weekend 6-3 and 5-1. Warning recorded five points on the weekend with a goal and two assists Friday and two goals Saturday. He is now tied for leading scorer in the nation with nine points from five goals and four assists. He has had three multi-point games this season and scored a goal in all four so far. Last week, Warning was the Second Star.

Freshman forward Justin Kloos also earned recognition with the Third Star. He also tallied five points on the weekend but with one goal and four assists. He is tied for the Big Ten rookie scoring lead with teammate Hudson Fasching.
