Halftime: Gophers lead Loyola 39-18

The Gophers only had one day off between their last game against Navy and tonight's contest against Loyola, but they came out plenty prepared.

Undersized Loyola packed in the lane early on with a 2-3 zone and the Gophers made them pay. Minnesota made quick, precise passes that led to open three-pointers. The Gophers' first three baskets of the game came from behind the arc.

Since then, Minnesota has used its tremendous size to its advantage. The Gophers have outrebounded Loyola 27-14.

With a large lead early, Minnesota has gone deep into its bench playing nine players. Freshman Stabresa McDaniel has a career-high eight points thus far.

Junior guard Rachel Banham leads Minnesota with 13 points and Amanda Zahui B. had five blocks in the first stanza.
