Women’s hockey announces recruits

Come 2014-15, the Gophers women's hockey team will add four players. Sydney Baldwin (Minnetonka High School), Kelly Pannek (Benilde-St. Margaret's), Cara Piazza (Chicago Mission) and Nina Rodgers (Hopkins High School) will join the Gophers next season.

"This class of recruits has an incredible blend of speed, skill and toughness," head coach Brad Frost said in a release. "Each of them has tremendous international experience as they have all played on the United States Under-18 team. They will add greatly to our culture both in the classroom and on the ice."

Minnesota will lose Kelly Terry, Bethany Brausen, Baylee Gillanders and Sarah Davis to graduation. However, it is expected to get back Amanda Kessel and Lee Stecklein, who are both currently competing for the U.S. Women's National Team.
