Nine members of the Gophers volleyball team travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., this weekend to try out for the U.S. women's national team at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
Maddie Beal, Alyssa Goehner, Erica Handley, Molly Lohman, Katie Schau, Samantha Seliger Swenson, Hannah Tapp, Paige Tapp and Sarah Wilhite will all represent Minnesota among the estimated 240 players trying out this weekend.
The tryout helps U.S. volleyball officials identify prospects for the national team.
Players at the tryout can also be selected to play on the collegiate national team and women's junior national team.
