Making its return to the Walker Art Center's Sculpture Garden, the annual Rock the Garden music festival brought in a sold-out crowd of over 11,000 music fans on July 22, 2017.
The festival sold out entirely to members of Minnesota Public Radio and the Walker Art Center, and the updated venue provided fans with a main stage and a smaller stage dedicated to featuring local artists.
The festival featured a wide array of musical acts. The late Prince's former band The Revolution played, paying tribute to the local icon with a set filled with many of his hits. Midwestern favorite Bon Iver closed out the night, marking the first time that an artist has played Rock the Garden more than once.
