Library access limited

A new phase of the $5.5 million Wilson Library construction project will begin Monday and result in decreased access to the facility for about a month.
The project, which began in March and will last a total of two years, is necessary to bring the building within fire and safety guidelines. The goal is to improve fire protection and sprinkler systems in the building.
As a result of the next construction phase, the basement lobby and underground hallway that connects the library to Blegen Hall will be closed from July 8 to Aug. 9.
Patrons will still have access to the basement level but will have to go through the first floor entrance and then downstairs.
Photoduplication services, currently located across from the basement entrance, will be located in Room 5 of Wilson Library during this phase of the project.
The section of the library containing books classified from J to Z in the Library of Congress collection will be re-opened. That section has been closed since early June.
The change machine in the basement of Wilson Library will be inaccessible, but alternatives are available in the vending areas of Blegen Hall, Anderson Hall and the Humphrey Center.
