Minneapolis community, beyond remembers runner Gabe Grunewald

Friends, family, runners and those in the community who runner Gabe Grunewald inspired came together to remember her life Tuesday. “We kind of started to set this up, four days ago and we thought maybe five or ten people would show up," said her husband Justin Grunewald on Tuesday. "Now you are all here and I know Gabe is smiling down with the biggest smile on her face, and she has the most beautiful smile.”

Seven Gophers selected in 2019 NHL draft

The Minnesota men’s hockey team saw seven total members — six future Gophers and one current member of the team — selected this weekend in the 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver, British Columbia. The seven selections is the most since the Gophers set a school record in 2007 with nine.

Gophers add eight recruits for 2020 class

Defensive ends Claude Larkins Jr. and Melle Kreuder, cornerbacks Benjamin Onwuzo and Jalen Glaze and offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery all took to Twitter within hours of each other on Saturday to announce that they will be heading to the University of Minnesota in 2020 to continue their football careers.

Lindsay Whalen honored with jersey retirement

"[Whalen] worked hard, everything she did sets the perfect example of how you should go out and what you need to do to be successful," said senior forward Annalese Lamke. "If you try to live the way Lindsay Whalen did and how hard she worked and how tough she was throughout the sport, I think it's just an incredible example."
