Minnesota readies for Princeton on Saturday

No. 2 Minnesota (30-5-1) will face No. 7 Princeton (20-7-5) on Saturday at Ridder Arena in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. The winner will advance to the Frozen Four in Hamden, Connecticut. The Gophers missed out on the Frozen Four in 2018 after losing to Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Gophers fall short of WCHA title

No. 2 Wisconsin (32-4-2) defeated No. 1 Minnesota (30-5-1) 3-1 in the 2019 WCHA Final Faceoff championship game. The Badgers avenged their 2018 WCHA Final Faceoff loss, winning their eighth WCHA title and their second in three seasons.

Gophers win Big Ten quarterfinal over Michigan

Minnesota advanced to the second round of the Big Ten tournament on Saturday with a 4-1 victory over Michigan. The Gophers return to action next weekend against Notre Dame in the semifinal round of the tournament.

Eric Nakamura: Comedian, dancer, Gopher gymnast

Freshman Eric Nakamura was sitting in Spanish class his senior year of high school when he got a life-changing phone call. On the other end was Gophers men's gymnastics head coach Mike Burns. Nakamura left class to answer Burns' call and for the next hour the two chatted. By the end of the conversation, Nakamura had the spot.
