Destiny Pitts looks to grow after electric freshman season

Individual awards early in her career aren't going to faze Sophomore Destiny Pitts, the reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Pitts prefers to give most of the credit for the award to her teammates, among whom she is known more popularly by her last name, which doubles as her nickname.


Women's cross country team wins the Roy Griak Invitational

The University of Minnesota men’s and women’s cross country teams were in action again on Saturday at the 33rd annual Roy Griak Invitational. The course was buzzing with thousands of athletes and spectators focused on eight separate races scheduled throughout the morning.


The Gophers welcome back Minnesota-native Seth Eliason

Seth Eliason had missed running with his high school teammates, Owen Hoeft and Hunter Staack. The Hopkins, Minnesota native spent a year in Washington, D.C. and competed for the Georgetown Hoyas before deciding to transfer home to the Gophers, reuniting with his old teammates in the process. 


Gophers go "Coast-to-Coast" at the Battle in Beantown meet

This week on the trails, the Gophers women’s cross country team raced at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown meet in Boston. Twelve of the Gophers’ top runners were at the start line just before 3 p.m. on Friday to face some of the best teams in the country. The non-travel squad remained in Minnesota to race locally at the St. Olaf Invite in Northfield, Minnesota on Saturday. Before the doubleheader, head coach Sarah Hopkins spoke about her expectations for race day.
