Gophers learning from tough nonconference schedule

Minnesota's seniors lead the way in their final home game

Minnesota's senior day was a night to remember and two players receiving honors were a big reason why. Goaltender Sidney Peters denied every chance from Mankato and forward Cara Piazza delivered the game-winning goal to help the Gophers (19-8-2, 12-6-2 WCHA) beat Mankato (3-22-1, 1-17 WCHA) 2-0 on Saturday night. Peters and Piazza played their last regular season game at Ridder Arena.

Gophers drop tight match against NC State

Minnesota’s No. 35 Stefan Milicevic went up against No. 16 Alexis Galarneau of NC State in the No. 1 singles spot. The two went toe-to-toe, but ultimately Milicevic was defeated in three sets, as the Gophers lost the dual 4-3 on Saturday at Baseline Tennis Center.
