“We have a very Eurocentric curriculum centered around Shakespeare,” said professor Qadri Ismail. “The ideology of the English department can be summed up in three words: white writers matter.”
Quam came to the University as an instructor in 1980. She intends to teach for two or three years before retiring.
“Minnesota’s workforce is reaching a crisis point," the report says. "Aging workers of the baby boomer generation are retiring in great numbers, and young people and new immigrants are not able to fill the workforce need.”
“Students, staff and faculty in the School of Kinesiology, myself included, are going to significantly miss Dr. Kane,” said School of Kinesiology Director Beth Lewis.

Joan Gabel was formally inaugurated Friday as the 17th president of the University of Minnesota. Throughout the events, Gabel drew attention to the University’s rich history and the tribal nations of Minnesota.

Centennial Dining Hall closed its doors this summer after feeding students, staff and faculty at the University of Minnesota for years. In it's place, Pioneer Hall now houses Superblock’s sole dining hall.
