Patrick McKee is off to an excellent start to his redshirt freshman season, but his success on the mat is only part of what the sport means to him.
The Gophers two wins over the weekend make for a huge match against Wisconsin on Thursday, perhaps the deciding match of the Big Ten season.
After 17 pins and over 50 victories, four Gophers were crowned champions at the Bison Open Saturday.

The Gophers wrestling team opened their season Friday, earning a 28-9 dual victory over Cal State Bakersfield at home.
Minnesota is on a five-game winning streak, and is 10-1 in Big Ten play this season.
The roster looks very different from a year ago as the Gophers will be without several wrestlers who were part of the starting lineup.
The Gophers won in dramatic fashion as they played a fifth set for the first time this season.
