New student group to give hope to those with traumatic childhoods

H.O.P.E. is working to create a community for students with traumatic childhood experiences while raising awareness of adverse childhood experiences. The student organization was founded by research assistants of Canan Karatekin, an associate professor in the University’s College of Education and Human Development.

Early-morning stretch program aids UMN staff

While most of the campus is still asleep on weekday mornings, some University of Minnesota Facilities Management personnel gather as early as 5 a.m. to start their day with a dose of group exercise and camaraderie.

Students create sweet-treat student group

Cleverly named Oven Lovin, the group aims to create a community gathered around a love of baking and give people a taste of their recipes through social media. This group stands out from other campus cooking clubs because it desires to not only create culinary works, but to share their creations with others, teaching viewers how to bake on their own. 

Jewish sorority joins UMN Greek life

The sorority, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi, prides itself on being a “Jewish first, Greek second” organization of women. Previously a student group, it will become a member of the Panhellenic Council, which will connect them to the University’s Greek community.
